I am so exhausted! These past 2 weeks I had absolutely no time to rest. Why? I have been overloaded with orders and extracurricular activities. I am not complaining, as I got the opportunity to bake some interesting cakes and cupcakes. My friend, Mahima’s mother is an amazing artist, and I baked a cake for her birthday. Initially, I was clueless on the design of the cake, and I was trying to think of something to capture her love for drawing. Finally, I decided to go with a “color palette and brush” topper for the cake. Check out the photo attached here. Imagine your friend who loves Harry Potter times two. My friends Sandya and Emily are both big Harry Potter fans, and they asked me to cater for their Birthday party!!! There is only one downside, my Championship swim meet was on the same day as of the party, and I couldn’t go. They had tasted my Butterbeer cupcake from the last tasting session, and loved it. It obviously went well with their party theme, and that is what they ordered. I gave the frosting separately in bowls as they decorated the cupcake during the party as one of the activity. I wish I was there. Sounds like so much fun!!! The other interesting cake I made was for Madhavi aunty’s (BBNJ coordinator) daughter Radhika. She loves to play guitar and I made a guitar topper for the cake. Check out the photos! This was also on the same weekend as my Championships meet too. I had no choice, but to have my parents help me complete the cake. I had made all the mandatory parts for the cake (The cake, frosting, and fondant topper), so they just had to assemble it. I guess I have trained them well. LOL!
NEWS ALERT!!! I am making Divergent cupcakes for the new movie Divergent. There will be a tasting session for the cupcakes this month. I haven’t decided the date yet, so keep your calendars open. There will be a different topper for each faction. So save the date, or month! Email me or write in the comments section that you want to taste the cupcakes.

Oh My Gosh! I can't believe I actually finished doing the fondant decorations for my first ever themed cupcakes order! I spent 4 hours crouched down in front of a table working on the minuscule details on the fondant of the cupcake. The first hour I scoured the web to find ideas for the cupcake, and then found ways to incorporate all the ideas into a couple different designs. Check out the picture below of my final output! It has fondant designs of Dr. Who's signature bow, his police booth, the DW logo, and the green Dalek. This was ordered by Manju Aunty for her son, Mihir's, birthday. Happy Birthday Mihir, from everyone here at Frosted World! Just a suggestion from Frosted World, take the fondant off the cupcakes and then eat the fondant separately. This way, you will be able to enjoy the actual taste of the cupcakes. Mihir wanted some Pina Colada cupcakes as well! Photo below and also in the gallery of my website. I haven't determined the price for the themed cupcakes yet. Any suggestions? It needs additional material like fondant and a lot of labor of love. From now on, I am accepting orders for themed cupcakes. Many popular themes that comes to my mind are: The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and Despicable Me. On another note, I am often trying out new flavors, as some of you may know, if you are in NJ and want to be a tester for the new cupcake flavors then you can sign up in the comments section of this post.
The best thing just happened to me! I got a new website! Instead of having a sub-domain, I have my own domain. My parents bought it for me! Thank you guys so much! I just started to build the website and I have to say it looks really good. Check out http://www.frostedworld.com/ today! There is a link below waiting to transfer you there!
Happy New Year everyone!!! You know that I make Cakes, Cupcakes, and Cookies. Well, now I am trying to bake other things. I tried a recipe to make Focaccia bread using my mixer. It looked awesome, but it was a bit harder than the real Focaccia bread and it didn't taste as good as the store bought ones. I still have some ways to go before I master this one. I will try it again in the next few weeks.
OMG! Guess what I got as present for this holidays! A Kitchen Aid mixer. I have been wanting this for a while as it is essential for my baking, considering the amount of baking I do. Actually, I haven't received it yet physically. I got a card and I thought to myself that it is going to be another lame gift card for itunes. But to my surprise, it turned out to be this awesome present. I will be receiving it on the first week of Jan. Can't wait to get my hands on it...
From now until December 26, 2013 I will be on break and Frosted World will be
closed, unless you want to drive to Florida to pick up your cake or cupcakes! Harry Potter, here I come! T oday, I handed over the holiday cookies that I baked , to all my school teachers. I gave it to them during homeroom, and by the time I went to their class almost a quarter of the cookies were gone. T hey loved them! I had also brought a tin of cookies to share with my friends during lunch. Since we ate in homeroom, most of homeroom friends wanted some, when I opened the cookie tin. I gave it to everyone and they were all happy. As you explore my page, you will see there is no cookie page, that page is still under construction and will be up shortly.
I made black and white cupcakes today. For who? You may ask. Well the answer is clear, my piano teacher, HsinYi Tsai! She asked for cupcakes for her holiday party! I was really excited and she told me I was going to play too! She asked for pineapple cupcakes with coconut frosting, Yin Yang cupcakes, and Yang Yin cupcakes. T hey were a big hit and everyone liked them. In fact people asked me about it and if I would deliver to them in Highland Park, my answer, of course, was yes. Sorry Amma & Appa! You have to drive me around now!
Frosted world is beginning to get some good orders now. Thanks to word of mouth, and my announcement at Balavihar. Today, I made 2 cakes and 24 cupcakes for an order. One of the cake is for a dentist and one for a chess champion. I got feedback that the cakes were a big hit. I heard that the entire cake was gone in minutes, even the crumbs!! It feels happy that someone likes your cake.
Happy Birthday Preethi and Pallavi from everyone here at Frosted World! T oday was my cousin Sahana's birthday. She is a gymnast and I used the frozen buttercream transfer technique to create Gymnast decoration. Check it out in the gallery! I need to learn other ways of decorating as well. LOL!
Hope you enjoyed the cake Sahana! Happy Birthday from everyone here at Frosted World! It was a pretty busy weekend with a catering order for Swamiji's birthday in BBNJ Balavihar. T he order was for 120 mini cupcakes and a double layered chocolate sheet cake! I just made $135!! Can't wait to donate all of this money to CORD! Y ou know there wasn't a single crumb left of everything I baked! I used a new technique called "frozen buttercream transfer" for decorating the birthday cake. It is pretty cool. Thank you 'you-tube'!
Finally after 2 months, I made the announcement about my online bakery @ Balavihar, my Indian Sunday school. I also distributed a flyer after the speech. Thanks Harshita and Anika for helping me distribute the flyer! It was well received and I got a lot of support and appreciation. I have uploaded my speech/announcement below. CORDUSA has added this announcement on their Facebook page!! There is a link below. ![]()

AuthorI am Sanjana Srinivasan and I started baking when I was 11 years old. Thanks to cupcake wars! A year later, June 2013, I started an online bakery called Frosted World . I donate all the money I make to charity. Hopefully, I will learn to become a better baker, and a better person in general. It feels good to bake cupcakes for a cause. Thanks for all your support!
